Love the Village! Menu is excellent - there are a wide variety of options and great for vegetarians - got the hummus pita, veggie sub and a mint chocolate milkshake. The service was friendly and fast.
Absolutely loved this place. They were busy but very much worth the wait. Huge menu but all the food was delightful. Cannot wait to return. Love the mini pitchers for drinks. Kid loved the milkshake. Poutine fries were delicious. Waitress was phenomenal. Can’t say enough great things about this place.

Always enjoyed the vibe! This is a perfect place to hang out with friends. The ambience is great. The staffs are very polite, attentive and helpful in selecting food. Their menu is extensive and has a wide variety. The waiting period wasn't particularly lengthy. Every food we tasted had distinct flavour with a well-balanced blend of spices and made with fresh ingredients. I would recommend everyone to go here. The items we tasted were as follows: 1) Fish and Chips with sauce 2) Nachos 3) Quesadilla with salsa side and lettuce, tomato, avocado, sour cream 4) Chicken Stromboli 5) Chicken Parmesan 6) Brownie with vanilla ice cream
We watched an episode of Diners,Drive Ins, and Dives and just knew we had to visit when we came into town. All the staff is kind and attentive. The food was delicious. The ambience cozy. We will be back.
Had an amazing experience at The Village Cafe. I came in expecting something casual, but the food was surprisingly stellar. Every dish was packed with flavor and clearly made with care—way above what you’d expect at first glance. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, making it a great spot to hang out while still enjoying genuinely high-quality food. Definitely a hidden gem in Richmond that I’ll be coming back to. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Village Cafe does breakfast right. Stopped in on a busy weekend morning and, despite the crowd, everything ran smoothly. The service was attentive without being overbearing, and the food came out quicker than I expected. The biscuits and gravy were especially good, rich and flavorful. I’ll definitely be back.
I came in for breakfast with my daughter, a student at VCU. The place was warm with personality and charm and the temperature quickly warmed up, too! Service was friendly, polite and our orders came quickly. We asked our server for a third plate so we could share since there were so many great things on the menu (for vegetarians, too)! Not an issue. Ok… the care shown by staff was top notch and it also came through in their food. I ordered the veggie omelet. This is my first time having the veggies omelet where the vegetables are caramelized. The flavor was awesome, fresh and tasty. My daughter was feeling like chocolate chip pancakes and they were the best. Coffee was great, too! I highly recommend! We will return. Next time I want to try lunch or dinner!
Went to this location as a large group. This was no problem with seating and separate checks (which sometimes is an issue). The waitress was so on top of it all. The food was great and the soda is served in this mini pitchers. A huge diverse selection! Richmond charm.
Absolutely loved this stop during our Richmond visit! The vintage booths were cute and service were excellent. The pancakes were delicious and eggs and bacon were high quality. I tried my boyfriend’s burrito that was smothered in gravy and I kept stealing more bites it was that good.
